Rotary Club of Carol Stream awards College Scholarships

Rotary Club of Carol Stream Scholarship winners

Elise S Ciribassi, secy

June brings new students graduating from local High Schools. These students are entering the College world to further many career choices. With the economic stress on the Nation, costs of that education can be difficult for our teens. The Rotary Club of Carol Stream is a service organization of local business people who raise money for local and international projects through charitable events and fund raisers. The Club gives money annually to local High School seniors as a scholarship to help defray the cost of higher education. Students must complete an application process which includes their grades and school rank, an essay about their charitable contribution to the community, an essay about future college/career goals, and participate in an interview with a board of Rotarians. The Rotary club is proud to congratulate the following students as the recipients of their scholarships for the 2013-14 school year:

Elizabeth Youngwith - West Chicago High School - Northern Illinois University

Harmony Arcilla - GBN – Northwestern

Nicole Krippinger - GBN - Illinois State University

Vincent Slobodecki - GBN - Trine University

Tyler Dixor - GBN - University of Illinois

We wish these students the best of luck in their endeavors.

For more information about the Rotary club, see us at Rotary club of Carol Stream website or on facebook. We meet Tuesdays at 12:15 at Albertos in Holiday Inn, Carol Stream.
