Dist. 211 leader set to retire in 2014
The search for a new superintendent in Palatine-Schaumburg High School District 211 will begin soon as officials confirmed Wednesday that Superintendent Nancy Robb will retire at the end of next school year.
District 211 spokesman Tom Petersen said Robb will finish her 33-year tenure with the district following the 2013-14 school year.
Robb joined the district in 1980 as a career counselor and has served as superintendent since January 2009. Prior to that she took on a variety of roles, including associate superintendent for instruction, student services director at Schaumburg High School and principal of Palatine High School.
At the board of education meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, a representative from the consulting firm School Exec Connect will present options regarding a search for the next superintendent.
Robb is the district’s sixth superintendent and was preceded by Roger Thornton.
