Be first to cross home plate at Home Run 5K in Schaumburg
Schaumburg Park District’s Home Run 5K will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 2, in the Schaumburg Baseball Stadium parking lot and end inside Schaumburg Baseball Stadium, 1999 S. Springinsguth Road.
The chip-timed event for ages 6 and older will be held on a USATF-certified 3.1-mile course. Multiple age divisions are available for the 5K race.
The ½-mile run for youth ages 3 to 9 will start at 7:30 a.m. Medals will be given to all participants. Parents are encouraged to run with children. The Home Run ½ Mile Youth Run is a Schaumburg CAN (Children — Activity — Nutrition) event.
All participants are required to complete an official race registration form available at www.parkfun.com, park district facilities, or by calling (847) 490-7015. Race forms must be returned to the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Online registration is available at www.active.com.
The 5K preregistration fee is $30 and required by 5 p.m., Wednesday, May 29. Race-day registration fee is $35; ½ mile youth run fee is $10.
Check-in, packet pickup and race-day registration will be from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Packet pickup is also available at the Community Recreation Center from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 1, for both races. The first 200 runners will receive a T-shirt. Schaumburg Park District cannot guarantee shirt sizes.
