Schaumburg park board recognizes Schaumburg Bicycle Club

The Schaumburg Park District Board of Commissioners honored the Schaumburg Bicycle Club for being an outstanding partner of the district at the May 9 park board meeting at the Jerry Handlon Administration Building, 235 E. Beech Drive.

With over 85 miles of paths and bikeways, the village of Schaumburg is a haven for bicyclists and was first designated a “Bicycle Friendly” community by the League of American Bicyclists in 1999. The active village is home to more than 1,000 people who bike regularly for exercise, sport and fun. The club devoted to the sport is dedicated to supporting rides for all ages, speeds, abilities and terrain.

The Schaumburg park board meets at 7:30 p.m. the second Thursday of every month, at the Jerry Handlon Administration Building. The district will honor an organization each month during its 50th anniversary. The next meeting on June 13 will honor the Schaumburg Park Foundation.
