Deere, Warren plow past New Trier
Adrian Deere scored a season-high 20 points, and Warren’s boys basketball team defeated host New Trier 66-60 in a tightly contested nonconference game Saturday night.
Dre Von Hill added 18 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, for the Blue Devils, who improved to 5-2 with their fourth win in a row and second in as many nights.
Steven Cook and Stas Banas scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, for New Trier (4-2).
Woodstock 36, Wauconda 35: The visiting Bulldogs lost another heartbreaker, as they fell to 1-5 with the nonconference defeat.
Four of Wauconda’s losses have been decided by seven or fewer points.
Austin Swenson had 9 points, 4 assists and 4 steals for the Bulldogs. Ricky Sidlowski and Dion Head added 8 points apiece for Wauconda. Devon King contributed 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, and Kody Thomas tallied 7 points.
