Midtown 5K Run & Walk for Bears Care Highlights Bannockburn's BBQ Challenge Sept. 29

Midtown Athletic Club in Bannockburn will host the Midtown 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, September 29, at 8:30 a.m. The race will serve as the official kick off to the inaugural Battle of Bannockburn BBQ Challenge.

Race entry fees are $30 per adult and $20 for children ages 14-and-under if registering by September 22. Entry fees include long sleeve t-shirt, and post-race party at the Bannockburn Green Shopping Center near the corner of Waukegan and Half Day Roads.

Registration for the Midtown 5K is now being accepted by stopping by Midtown Athletic Club at 2211 Waukegan Road, or by requesting a race entry by emailing marnie.wilcox@midtown.com. Race day registration will take place starting at 6:45 a.m. on September 29. The race will begin at Midtown Athletic Club and end in front of Erehwon Outfitters in Bannockburn Green.

All proceeds benefit Bears Care, which is committed to improving the quality of life for people in the Chicagoland community, especially disadvantaged children and their families through targeted programs supporting education, youth athletics, and medical research and health awareness programs focusing on breast and ovarian cancer.

All non-Midtown member 5K participants will receive a complimentary guest pass to experience all the club has to offer including tennis, aquatics, group fitness, yoga, Pilates and much more.
