It has been an award winning six months for Krisilee Murphy, the Director of Marketing, at Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. It all started with the Downtown Neighborhood Association's Gala where she walked away with the award for Above & Beyond in 2011. This is an award she received for working so close with Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin on numerous marketing initiatives to draw tourist and locals into Downtown Elgin and volunteering at almost all of their events in her free time.

Krisilee Murphy won the 2012 Marguerite Henry Award for Communications/Technology at YWCA of Elgin's 2012 Leader Luncheon in its 29th year. Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin submitted this nomination. Krisilee has reinvigorated and reinvented the way the bureau markets the Fox Valley. Through her efforts the EACVB has achieved a highly effective balance between traditional marketing practices combined with cutting-edge technology solutions and social media tools and strategies. Krisilee Murphy was recently named Chairperson of Market Illinois, whose purpose is to establish policies, budgets and marketing strategies for the committee's tourism efforts.

Kim Bless, President and CEO of the Elgin Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, nominated Krisilee for Destination Marketing Association International's 30 Under 30. Thirty industry rising stars are getting an all access pass to top-notch education by being selected to participate in DMAI's 30 Under 30 program, which was developed to identify and foster the talent of DMO professionals, aged 30 and under, through increased access to top-level networking and professional development.
