Learn story of Mamah Bouton Borthwick and Frank Lloyd Wright
West Chicago, Illinois: May 25, 2012 - Join the West Chicago Historical Society for its second annual Spring Tea Fundraiser at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at the West Chicago Community Center, 306 Main St., West Chicago. The historical society presentation will feature Mamah Bouton Borthwick, as played by Ellie Carlson.
Mamah was brutally murdered in August of 1914 at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wis., the home she shared with Frank Lloyd Wright. Mamah struggled to understand the circumstances of her relationships and how a woman's own desires can be reconciled to the larger goals of womankind and society at large.
As a modern woman living in a Victorian world, Mamah will tell her story and take questions from the audience. This program may not be suitable for children.
Join the Historical Society for this entertaining tea luncheon; a silent auction will also be held to benefit the Society.
