Volunteer pride prominent in Addison during cleanup event

State Representatives Dennis Reboletti and Angelo "Skip" Saviano were present to cut the ribbon and be recognized for their role in securing state funding to build the new playground. The Park District invited children from the community to dash through the ribbon as soon as it was officially opened.

Nearly 600 volunteers helped spruce up neighborhood parks for the Addison Park District's annual Park Pride event on Saturday, May 12.

Participants spent time planting flowers, cleaning up the parks and spreading mulch while spending time as a community beautifying Addison. Each volunteer was treated to free lunch at a cookout held in Community Park following the event.

Adding to the festivities of the day, a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly completed playground in Community Park was held at noon. Representatives Dennis Reboletti and Angelo "Skip" Saviano were present to cut the ribbon and be recognized for their role in securing state funding to build the new playground. The Park District invited children from the community to dash through the ribbon as soon as it was officially opened.
