Learn about your Constitutional freedoms in Huntley
Submitted by Huntley Tea Party
On Thursday, April 26, The Huntley Tea Party will host a meeting on the core concepts of the U.S. Constitution. The guest will be Chad Kent, a writer and speaker on the Constitution and the principles of freedom.
The American Revolution led to a functioning Representative government grounded in freedom of the individual. The U.S. Constitution establishes three branches of government, but with a focus on restraints and limits on the powers of each branch, as well as specific protections for the rights of the individual.
The core value of the U.S. Constitution is freedom of the individual in opposition to the authority and powers of the state.
Kent will discuss the concepts of freedom embedded in the Constitution, as well as what citizens need to know today to secure the freedoms guaranteed to them and the next generation.
A meet-and-greet will be held from 6:30 to 7 p.m., followed by the session at 7 p.m. at the Cosman Center, 12015 Mill St. in Huntley. For information, visit www.huntleyteaparty.com.
