Bartlett falls to top Ohio team
The Bartlett softball team saw its 10-game winning streak come to an end Friday when the Hawks lost 5-1 to undefeated Keystone (OH) at the Wendt’s Spring Classic in Ashland, Ohio. Keystone is the defending Ohio state runner-up.
Keystone senior Kenzie Conrad, who is committed to Akron, allowed the Hawks just 4 hits, which included a Tori Burke home run for Bartlett’s only run. Alex Morales also had a double for the Hawks (13-3).
Burke (7-3) suffered the loss for Bartlett, allowing 7 hits with 3 strikeouts and 1 walk.
Bartlett left 5 runners on base.
“Against a pitcher like that you have to take advantage,” said Hawks’ coach Jim Wolfsmith. “We had runners on we just couldn’t get them in. It was an excellent softball game against one of the best teams in Ohio.”
