New Schaumburg parks director not imminent

Schaumburg Park District Executive Director Jean Schlinkmann’s successor most likely won’t be chosen before she retires next month. Park Commissioner Dave Johnson said the board has received a list of candidates from a search firm but a selection almost certainly will not be made before Schlinkmann steps down in a few weeks. Instead, she probably will be followed by an interim or acting director for an indeterminate time, Johnson said. Schlinkmann has been executive director for the past eight years, but first joined the park district in 1981.
