Park district says come out and play
Spend a spring evening enjoying sports with your family.
Schaumburg Park District’s Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road, will host a family fun night from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, in honor of Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play.
The Worldwide Day of Play encourages kids to turn off the television and go out and play.
The event will offer opportunities for families to participate in a variety of structured, supervised sports, games and activities in the park district’s 110,000-square-foot indoor facility.
Activities will include basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, preschool tot lot, soccer, t-ball, softball and gymnastics obstacle courses.
Sport Center Family Fun Night is a Schaumburg CAN (Children — Activity — Nutrition) event. Schaumburg CAN’s mission is to align the community around opportunities that build a foundation of healthy activity and nutrition for children.
Concessions will be available for purchase. The first 250 residents to register for the event will receive a free gift at the door.
The event is free for residents and $5 for nonresident families.
