Kelle Conquest forced a 5-inning no-hitter with 5 strikeouts and no walks Wednesday as Streamwood’s softball team defeated East Aurora 11-0 in Upstate Eight Conference action.
Only 2 errors kept Conquest from pitching a perfect game.
Dani Fisher was 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI for the Sabres (4-8, 1-4) and Andrea Barajas had 2 hits and scored 3 runs.
Elgin 3, Neuqua Valley 1: Elgin senior Hannah Perryman struck out 16 and tossed a 2-hitter as the Maroons (9-7, 2-3) bounced back from Tuesday’s loss to Waubonsie Valley to win this Upstate Eight game. Perryman has now struck out 67 batters in her last four outings. Kelly Bremer (3-for-4 had 2 doubles and 3 RBI for Elgin, while Anna Eckholm added a double.
Bartlett 11, Larkin 1: Amanda Montbriand had a triple, Holly Pagan drove in 2 runs and Kaylyn Zierke was 2-for-2 with an RBI as the Hawks (9-2, 4-0) downed Larkin in preparation for a battle today with St. Charles North, which is also undefeated in the Upstate Eight. The win was Bartlett’s sixth straight. Pagan picked up the win in the circle, allowing 2 hits with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks. Beth Barry had a double for the Royals, who committed 8 errors. Kiernan Schock was the losing pitcher for Larkin (3-14, 1-3).
Montini 8, St. Edward 0: The Green Wave cut their errors from 8 on Tuesday to 2 on Thursday but they managed just 6 hits in losing this Suburban Christian Blue game. Maddie Kerr and Kristi Kroll each went 2-for-3 for St. Edward (1-8, 1-3) and Morgin Coughlin suffered the loss in the circle.
Grayslake Central 12, Hampshire 2: Jordan Hook had a double and Haley Widmayer and Tiffany Bentley 2 hits each for Hampshire (6-9, 0-1) in the Fox Valley Conference Fox Division opener. Jen Hurst (6-5) suffered the loss for the Whip-Purs.
McHenry 12, Dundee-Crown 1: Melany Love’s solo home run was the highlight for Dundee-Crown in this FVC Valley loss. Amanda Eissler took the loss for the Chargers (4-8, 0-1).
Prairie Ridge 14, Huntley 1: Randi Peterson was 2-for-3 with an RBI for Huntley (3-9, 0-1) in this FVC Valley loss. Haley Spannraft took the loss for the Red Raiders.
College softball
Judson sweeps Parkside: Sam Gladen and Sarah Boyer pitched complete games as Judson swept a nonconference doubleheader from Wisconsin-Parkside, 5-2 and 3-2. Gladen had 4 strikeouts in Game 1 and Deanna DeBosschere had 2 hits and 2 RBI for the Eagles. In Game 2, Erin Stankus had 2 hits and 2 RBI and Boyer won her 13th game of the season with 14 strikeouts as Judson moved to 18-21 on the season.
