South Elgin 1, West Chicago 0: Savanah Uveges scored the game’s only goal in the second half off an assist from Delaney Kelleher as the Storm (5-3) won the third-place game of their own tournament. Jourdan Valkner made 5 saves in goal for South Elgin. “We’re pretty proud of third place. That’s our best finish ever,” said South Elgin coach Tiffany Disher.
Hampshire 0, CL South 0: Haylee Moscato had 5 saves in goal for the Whip-Purs (1-3-1) in the fifth place game of the South Elgin tournament. “Our defensive unit continues to be solid,” said Whips’ coach Patrick O’Brien. “Haylee had a couple nice saves at the end to preserve the tie.”
Streamwood 2, Dundee-Crown 1: The Sabres got goals from Samantha Harding and Sharice Ellenwood to win the seventh place game of the South Elgin tournament. Jill Weichmann scored for Dundee-Crown. Natalie Guindon had 5 saves in goal for the Sabres, while Denise Maldonado (5 saves) and Allison Bakewell (2) manned the net for the Chargers (0-9).
Huntley 2, Marian Central 0: Deanna Hecht and Summer Campbell scored goals as Huntley (2-1) blanked Marian Central at the Huntley Invite. The Red Raiders will play Rockford Boyaln in the semifinals this morning.
