West Chicago splits a pair

Tarah Rayos (2-0) and Katie Wiest combined on a seven-hitter, striking out 11, in West Chicago’s 2-0 win over Batavia in the first game of a doubleheader Tuesday. Rachel Johnson drove in 2 runs for West Chicago (4-1). Katie Ryan homered for No. 14 Batavia (3-1) in a 7-2 win in the second game.

Benet 10, York 0:

Maeve McGuire homered twice and drove in 3 runs and Molly Moran threw a six-hitter for No. 5 Benet (4-0) in Lisle. Emily York went 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and Kendall Duffy 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored.

Lockport 7, Downers Grove South 5:

The host Mustangs (1-2) rallied from a 6-0 deficit, but couldn’t break through for more runs in a bases loaded, one-out situation in the bottom of the seventh. Danielle Trezzo and Katy LaCivita each went 2-for-4 and scored a run and Crystal Loehman was 3-for-4 for No. 11 Downers Grove South.
