Sports bras sign of professionalism

Anyone who has ever run a race understands the difficulties involved in a sport like track and field. It takes serious dedication to train every day and push your body past where you ever thought possible.

At my high school, the girls on the track team were recently criticized for their choice to wear a sports bra during our indoor speed workout. Our coach was instructed to tell us not to take off our shirt under any circumstances.

The girls on the Jacobs track team work extremely hard to improve as athletes and represent Jacobs as a fiercely competitive team. We wear sports bras because we sweat, not because we want to flaunt our bodies. During workouts, the girls on the team are professional and serious. Professional women athletes perform in sports bras because it is necessary to reach peak performance. We we are striving to compete like professionals, I think we would be able to dress like professionals.
