Enjoy Sugar Bush Fair at Spring Valley March 17, 18
The 27th Annual Sugar Bush Fair at Spring Valley is going organic once again.
Presented by Whole Foods Market in Schaumburg, the event will feature a delicious outdoor breakfast that includes pancakes with maple syrup, sausage, juice and coffee donated by the organic grocer.
The Fair is set for 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday March 17 and Sunday, March 18, at Spring Valley, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. The maple sugar centric event will feature demonstrations of syrup making and sap collecting methods of Native Americans and early pioneers, an authentic Chicago area Native American interpreter, children's puppet show, hayrides and syrup sales.
“It is a unique experience,” said Dave Brooks, manager of nature conservation for the Schaumburg Park District. “And after seeing how maple syrup is made, there's a delicious Whole Foods Market breakfast.”
Admission is free. Tickets for the pancake breakfast are $3.50 for a half stack and $4.50 for a full stack. Day-of prices are $4/$5. Tickets will be available at the Nature Center about two weeks before the event. Breakfast is served outdoors under a tent at Merkle Cabin.
Parking is available at Spring Valley Nature Center. There will be transportation between the Nature Center and Merkle Cabin. For information, call (847) 985-2100 or visit www.parkfun.com.
