Women's Club of Inverness Fashion Show to Benefit Local Charities and Scholarships

On Friday, April 13, The Women's Club of Inverness will celebrate its unique style at the annual Fashion Show and Luncheon Benefit “Style Safari- the Hunt for Fashion.” Profits from this event directly benefit local charitable organizations and the WCI Scholarship Program.

The benefit will be at the Stonegate Conference and Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join the club for a fabulous preview of 2012's spring fashion collections, luncheon, silent auction and raffles. WCI is proud to feature, among other collections, designs from by Project Runway's Peach Carr. Once again, ZZAZZ Productions will showcase cutting-edge trends from retailers and the latest in fashion silhouettes from Chicago's top designers. Headed by Tracy Tarantino, this professional runway show offers a presentation with cutting-edge sound and lighting design. ZZAZZ Productions has been involved at this event since 2005.

The benefit begins at 9:30 a.m. with raffle baskets, a 50/50 cash raffle, a silent auction and boutique shopping, where you will find unique gift items and accessories. Boutique vendors will feature jewelry, clothing, purses, food, children's items and decorative home goods. Themed baskets to be raffled include a flat-screen television; a tablet PC; travel, gardening and summertime baskets and a $500 cash basket, among others. The ladies lunch begins at noon, followed by the fashion show. Raffle winners will be announced on the runway.

Members of the Women's Club of Inverness are welcome from all communities! WCI embodies the strength of women dedicated to supporting various philanthropic endeavors and promoting cultural and educational activities in our community. WCI is a philanthropic 501(c) (3) organization. All profits from our benefits are distributed to local community-based organizations and scholarship grants to graduating seniors, college students and returning adults residing within the boundaries of School Districts 211 and 220. The Club's members also donate and send items to United States soldiers and canines in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In recent years more than 25 local charitable organizations have benefitted from donations by WCI, including Palatine Township Adopt-a-Family, Home of the Sparrow, Journeys from PADS to Hope, PHD, Wellness Place and WINGS, along with many others. The group is especially committed to aiding women and children's advocacy organizations, as well as senior citizen, at-risk youth, and family service centers. Last year the club donated more than $31,000 to agencies and community-based organizations and awarded $15,000 in scholarships.
