LaTulip leads Prospect to victory
Prospect senior guard Mike LaTulip made sure the final game of his high school career at Jean Walker Field House was memorable Saturday night.
LaTulip scored a game-high 28 points and the Knights (16-8) picked up a 53-47 nonconference boys basketball victory over visiting Downers Grove North.
“We had a nice, balanced effort,” said Prospect coach John Camardella. “After a high-intensity game (70-60 win over Rolling Meadows on Friday), this was much slower.
Downers Grove North really took the air out of the ball. And this was our last home game, so you hope your players will react to all that in the right way emotionally, and they did.”
LaTulip hit five 3-pointers and was 11-for-12 at the free-throw line. Brad Reibel had 6 points and 3 assists and Jack Landwehr and Derice Black had 6 rebounds apiece for the Knights, who are at Barrington in Tuesday’s Mid-Suburban League crossover.
St. Joseph 55, Conant 49: Tim Manczko scored 23 points and Sean Bourke added 11 points for Conant (12-13) in the nonconference loss in Westchester.
