Marian Central welcomes spring with ‘Hello, Dolly’

Submitted by Marian Central Catholic High School

“Hello, Dolly” takes stage at Marian Central as this year’s spring musical. “It’s so nice to have you back where you belong.”

Welcome to 1890s Younkers, N.Y., where Horace Vandergelder — the well-known half-a-millionaire — is about to have his life changed by Dolly Gallagher-Levi. Dolly is the classic matchmaker who has a positive effect on everyone she meets, including Vandergelder’s Hay & Feed clerks Cornelius and Barnaby, as well as Irene and Minnie of Miss Malloy’s Hat Shop.

Join in for a heart-warming, funny show that includes such wonderful songs as “Put on Your Sunday Clothes,” “Elegance,” “It Only Takes a Moment,” and of course the title song, “Hello, Dolly.”

Performances are at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Feb. 24, 25, March 2 and 3. Back by popular demand is the matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26.

Reserved tickets for the show are $10 and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 13. To reserve seats, call Marian’s school office at (815) 338-4220, ext. 100.
