Advocate Good Samaritan names director of community health
Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Taylor as the Director of Community Health. In this new role, Taylor will foster strong relationships with external constituency groups and direct projects and activities to improve the health status of the surrounding communities.
She will also provide administrative direction for the hospital's Senior Advocate initiative and health education programming.
“Caring for our communities extends far beyond the diagnosis and treatment of illness,” said Laura Neiberg, Vice President of Ancillary Services and Community Health. “As part of Good Samaritan Hospital's mission Taylor will collaborate with community partners to identify unmet health needs and enhance hospital services.”
Taylor, of Downers Grove, has been with Good Samaritan Hospital for five years, the last four as manager of public affairs. She successfully leveraged media opportunities to increase the organizations visibility and build positive community perception. She was a central point of contact for media events and crisis communication. In addition to planning and executing annual health fairs and large-scale hospital-wide events, Taylor has managed internal communication efforts.
“I look forward to further extending Good Samaritan Hospital's quality services through outreach activities. As a resident of Downers Grove, I will enjoy getting to know our community and its needs on a deeper level in this new role,” Taylor said.
Before coming to Good Samaritan Hospital, Taylor worked as a freelance journalist, a public relations specialist and a teacher. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Elmhurst College.
