13 District 54 schools receive awards Monday

State Superintendent of Education Christopher A. Koch Monday presented awards to 13 Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54 schools that made the 2011 Illinois Honor Roll for continued academic progress.

Statewide, 703 schools from 302 districts made the list. In District 54, 13 of 27 schools made the list, one of the best performances in the state.

The state’s annual recognition program is based on state standardized tests and demographic information. Northern Illinois University works with the state Board of Education to establish criteria, identify winners and administer the Illinois Honor Roll.
