Schaumburg preschool registration packets available Feb. 17

Registration packets for 2012-2013 Schaumburg Park District Preschool will be available Feb. 17 at the Meineke Recreation Center, Bock Neighborhood Center, the Community Recreation Center and Pat Shephard Center. The 2012-13 school year will run from Sept. 4, 2012 to May 22, 2013. A variety of classes are offered and each age-appropriate class builds on the next to provide children with a strong foundation for learning.

Children who are eligible for 4-year-old classes and will enter kindergarten in 2013 must be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2012. Children who are eligible for 3-year-old classes and will enter kindergarten in 2014 must be 3 years old by Sept. 1, 2012. Children who are 2 1/2 years old by Sept. 1, 2012 may register for mini-preschool classes.

To register, return the completed registration packet along with a birth certificate, proof of residency, $45 nonrefundable registration fee, $50 security deposit and a self-addressed stamped business envelope to any of the aforementioned locations by 5 p.m., March 2. After March 2, registration will be taken only at the Pat Shephard Center. The lottery for residents will be March 5. Nonresident registration will begin March 12.

Schaumburg Park District preschool centers are located at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way; Pat Shephard Center, 421 N. Springinsguth Road; and Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane. The Community Recreation Center is located at 505 N. Springinsguth Road.
