Mundelein High to host show choir workshop

The Mundelein High School vocal music department will host a show choir workshop and concert Saturday, Jan. 14.

The 7 p.m. concert at the school, 1350 W. Hawley St., is open to the public.

The workshop will take place during the day under the guidance of Stirling Culp, a world-recognized choral music director and adjudicator; Gerald Kreitzer, who has directed many successful concert and show choirs; and David Raab, a choreographer, show designer and show execution specialist.

“The clinicians are top notch and will put the students through some incredible rehearsals. We’re looking forward to it,” said John Neubauer, Mundelein High’s vocal music director.

The concert will feature performances by the Mundelein High groups Mundelein Sound, Mundelein Lights and SoundFX.

Other performing groups will include singers from Prospect High School, Wheaton North High School, the Chicagoland Ambassadors and the Rising Stars Company.

Admission to the concert is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
