Huntley Knights to sponsor free throw contest

On Saturday, Jan. 14, the local Free Throw Championship Competition, sponsored by the St. Mary of Huntley Knights of Columbus Council 11666, will be from 9 to 11:45 a.m., with awards at noon, at the Centegra HealthBridge Fitness Center, 10450 Algonquin Road, Huntley.
All girls and boys ages 10 to 14 are invited to participate for free at the local level.
The Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship is sponsored annually, with the winners progressing through local, district and state competitions. International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus International Headquarters based on scores from the state-level competitions. All boys and girls ages 10-14 are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. Last year, more than 130,000 sharpshooters participated in more than 3,000 local competitions.
