Black Friday not in spirit of Christmas

As the holidays approach, many people do not see what they are about. Holidays were meant to be a time of gathering and happiness throughout families and friends, but in this society people have decided to put a negative twist on things.

Many people find the holidays as a time to wake up in the middle of the night and go to the mall to buy gifts that are on sale. You can find a line of hundreds waiting on Black Friday just to get a good deal. It really is not worth the sleeplessness, arguing, stampeding and trampling just to try to get the latest electronic device before the store runs out.

Of course, everyone enjoys getting gifts for Christmas, but I am sure you don’t have to push and shove others to buy someone a present when you can get it a week later. The price may be a little higher than it was when it was on sale on Black Friday, but it is much more convenient to buy it without the screaming crowd around you.

Malls should stop advertising Black Friday events. They just anger people and make them tired. The holidays are truly about being together and doing fun activities with those you care about. I am sure the person you were buying for will be happier to see you than to see a gift.
