Santa brings cheer to families at Advocate Good Samaritan

Spending the holidays at the hospital is not the ideal situation for most. But for some it means extra time for their newborns to gain strength and for their sons and daughters to get better.

Santa's Gift, a program designed to bring a few minutes of joy to children and their family members in the hospital, brought smiles to everyone's faces at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Santa strolled down the hallways with teddy bears and memories were captured with a Polaroid camera.

Santa took a photo with each child and their families, while leaving a gift of a teddy bear wearing a sweater saying, β€œI am loved.”

β€œIt's wonderful to see the happiness Santa can bring to a family while here at the hospital,” said Peggy Farrell, RN, NICU/Pediatric manager at Good Samaritan Hospital.

It was a special day at Good Samaritan Hospital that means so much to all the patients and families during the holiday season.

Santa's Gift has been giving holiday hope to hospitalized children and their families since 1996. For more information and to view more photos, visit www.santasgift.com.
