Crystal Lake choirs ring in the holidays with concert
Submitted by First Congregational Church
The First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake presents its annual family Christmas concert, “Ring Out Wild Bells” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, featuring FCC’s 55-member adult Vestry Choir, the Jubilate Handbell Choir and the high school Alleluia Sound Choir.
“Ring Out Wild Bells” will charm audience members with traditional carols like “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” and “Go Tell It On the Mountain,” as well as contemporary pieces such as “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and the comedic “Fruitcake,” a traditional favorite of the Alleluia Sound. Jubilate Handbell Choir will perform favorites such as Marche from the “Nutcracker Suite,” “Pat-a-Pan” as well as a fun arrangement of “Deck the Halls.”
The Alleluia Sound Choir will perform the traditional carol sing, “We All of a Savior Mild,” as well as join Jubilate and Vestry Choir on “What is This Lovely Fragrance.”
Ann Tucker, FCC’s director of music, and Toni Gambini, bellmaster, will direct the performance. Barbara Thorsen and JoAnn Black will accompany the choirs.
