DP America FC earns 2nd in NISL U-12 League

The Des Plaines Park District DP America FC U-12 Traveling Boys Soccer Team earned second place in the Northern Illinois Soccer League for Fall 2011. The team posted an impressive 8-1-1 record this season, including winning the 2011 Nike Cup Division Championship in October.

“Congratulations go to Coach Julio Perez and the all of the players who worked so hard individually and as a team,” said Joshua Cantres, Athletic Supervisor. “We look forward to building on our experiences and training as we head into an even tougher season next year,” said Perez.

Winter practice session will take place on Saturdays at the Lattof YMCA in Des Plaines. Players who are interested in joining a traveling soccer team should contact Josh Cantres at 847-391-5711.

The Des Plaines Park District is also looking for additional soccer coaches. Though some experience is preferred, training is available. For more information, visit www.DPParks.org.
