Outlook: The Westminster Christian Warriors might be a young team, but they will have the depth and talent to compete in the Northeast Athletic Conference this season. "We're very deep," said head coach Ken Flickinger. "This is one of the more talented teams I've had. Our goal is to be a strong defensive team and to play a halfway decent half-court game. We want to get to the regional final and do some damage there." The Warriors have plenty of veteran talent to go around, but also have some new additions to the team that can do some damage, such as transfer student Porsche Griggs. "(Griggs) is going to be a force," said Flickinger. "She's built like Charles Barkley. She'll add a new dimension to the game that we never had." The returning core of sophomores will also prove to be a key to the Warriors' success. "This sophomore group is very athletic," said Flickinger. "Each has their own individual skills and we can go deep into our bench it's a nice tool for us to have this year." The Warriors played a tough summer schedule against schools like Dundee-Crown and DeKalb, and Flickinger saw the intensity level rise from playing those teams. "It's a different pace of play," said Flickinger. "(Our) level of aggressiveness has really shown in practice."
