Green Living Expo puts McHenry County efforts on display

Submitted by Environmental Defenders of McHenry County

Visit the Green Living Expo on Saturday, Nov. 5, to learn more about how community members in southeastern McHenry County have been working together to develop a new plan to protect local lakes, streams, groundwater, and other natural resources.

Lynn Rotunno, watershed coordinator for the Environmental Defenders of McHenry County, will provide an overview and update on this collaborative effort to develop a watershed plan for the Silver Creek and Sleepy Hollow Creek watersheds.

The overview will be presented from 12:40 to 12:50 p.m. in the gym/multipurpose room at McHenry County College, 8900 Route 14, Crystal Lake. Rotunno also will be available at the event all day to answer questions and take community input on the planning effort. The Green Living Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. is free and open to the public. It runs concurrently with the Bioneers Conference. It will feature more than 60 businesses and organizations sharing green products and services to the community. Families can watch demos from noon to 1:30 p.m. on green products that promote healthy lifestyles, save money and help the environment.
