Dist. 211 nominates 7 for ‘Those Who Excel’ awards

District 211 was well-represented in the nominations for the 2011 “Those Who Excel” education awards presented by the Illinois State Board of Education.

The Those Who Excel awards honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the state’s public and nonpublic schools, who were honored Oct. 22 at a banquet in downstate Bloomington.

Nominated by District 211 were:

Ÿ Palatine High School “Commit to the Pirate” Team, Team category: Members are Karisa Andrianopoulos, Dana Batterton, Miriam Bonilla, Jackie Considine, Charlie Filipek, Scott Hagel, Kori Hibner, Mark Hibner, Russ Horvath, Katie Kupka, Lauren McArdle, Alexis McCloud, Cathy Oswald and Amy Vineyard.

Ÿ William Fremd High School Teacher Assistant Elizabeth Grossman, Educational Service Personnel Category.

Ÿ James B. Conant High School special education teacher Camille Lutz, Classroom Teacher Category.
