Dist. 300’s battle for its life

I am proud to teach the children of District 300. Their families value the partnership we try so hard to establish between parent, student and teacher. These families give tirelessly of their time, talents and resources to help support the learning community for their children.

Community Unit District 300 is in a battle for survival. The state of Illinois has not made their General State Aid payments on time for the last two years. The district has cut more than $28 million from their budgets, and every employee has made tremendous sacrifices.

We value the contribution of Sears Holding Corp. to the larger community. We value the families they help support.

The Village of Hoffman Estates officials gave their word to District 300 that they would not extend the EDA. They have gone back on their word to the students and families in our community.

Please join State Sens. Althoff, Lauzen and Noland and State Rep. Tryon in pulling Amendment 3 from Senate Bill 540.
