Hampshire ended its afternoon at the Kaneland Invite on a winning note by downing Aurora Christian for the second time in the tournament, 25-14, 25-12.
The Whip-Purs (10-25) otherwise were swept in two games by Metea Valley (25-23, 25-22), host Kaneland (26-24, 25-16) and Aurora Central Catholic (25-21, 25-14).
Jenny Dumoulin had 41 kills, Kelly Meathe contributed 52 digs and setter Brittany Laffin finished with 43 assists.
Bartlett, Dundee-Crown struggle at Lake Park: Bartlett (13-22) was unable to win a match at the Lake Park Invite Saturday. The Hawks were swept by Harlem and Oak Park-River Forest and were edged in a nailbiter by Glenbard East, 26-24, 20-25, 18-16. Lexi Mason had 22 kills and 23 digs, Tori Burke notched 53 assists, Amy Hurban had 30 digs and Katie Hrbacek finished the day with 32 digs, 12 kills and 4 aces.
Dundee-Crown (7-28) was able to knock off Fenton 25-7, 25-16, but the Chargers were otherwise beaten by Glenbard East, Hersey, Lake Park and Grant.
Westminster third at conference: Westminster Christian defeated Mooseheart 25-20, 25-14 and Christian Liberty 25-20, 25-17 but dropped a match to Rockford Christian at the Northeast Athletic Conference. The Warriors finished the regular season 17-10 overall, 8-3 in the NAC.
