Boys soccer/Fox Valley roundup
Ismael Morales scored twice in the first half Monday to lead Hampshire to a 2-0 Fox Valley Conference Fox Division boys soccer win over Grayslake North, keeping the Whip-Purs (9-8, 4-0) unbeaten in the league.
Andrew Obmalay and Jason Bishop picked up assists for Hampshire and Brian Contreras made 9 saves in goal.
“Going to Grayslake, they have homefield advantage and they’re a very physical team, but we played well and scored the two goals to win it,” said Hampshire coach John Gosling.
Bartlett 3, Metea Valley 1: Fabio Aiello, Joey Morgan and Charlie Sordini scored for the Hawks (7-8-1, 1-3-1), who picked up their first Upstate Eight Valley win. Christian Alva had 9 saves in goal for Bartlett.
Keith 2, Westminster Christian 0: Sam Carini made 23 saves in goal but the Warriors (7-4-1, 3-2) couldn’t find the back of the net in this Northeastern Athletic Conference loss.
South Elgin 3, Neuqua Valley 3: Philip Saccameno scored twice and Mike Kozielek had a goal and an assist as the Storm (8-4-5, 1-2-2) forged a UEC Valley tie with Neuqua. Jarod Schieler had 5 saves in goal for South Elgin.
