Schaumburg is Abel to cruise

Everything was clicking for Schaumburg in Tuesday’s Mid-Suburban League boys soccer crossover with Wheeling.

Nick Abel scored 2 goals and had an assist and goalkeeper Ben Beard had 6 saves for the Saxons in their 5-0 victory. John Franco had a goal and 2 assists and Jake Savino had a goal and an assist.

Elk Grove 1, Hoffman Estates 0: Jesus Lara’s second-half goal was the difference for Elk Grove in the MSL crossover. Mike Ragano had 1 save for the shutout victory and Mike Gordon had 8 saves for Hoffman.

Christian Liberty 4, Westlake 1: Luke Comerouski has proved he can put the ball through a basketball net and now he showed he can put one in the soccer net with a hat trick. Mike Hennek scored an unassisted goal and Kiefer Bennett had 2 assists.
