Lake Co. YMCA elects David T. Sherman to board
The Lake County Family YMCA has elected Sun-Times Media Director of Advertising David T. Sherman to its Board of Directors.
“We're thrilled to have David join the board and help us further our commitment to strengthen the community through programs and services that foster youth development, healthy living and social responsibility,” President & CEO Lynda Chott said.
A Gurnee resident, Sherman has been with Sun-Times Media for nearly six years after serving as regional sales manager for Milwaukee's Journal Communications' Journal Community Publishing Group, Wisconsin's largest chain of newspapers. Prior to that, he was vice president of sales and marketing for Lakeland Media including Lakeland newspapers, Market Journal and Great Lakes Bulletin newspaper.
Sherman said, “I'm looking forward to helping make a difference in the Lake County Family YMCA Association and in the lives of the youth and families it serves.”
He has been board chairman for the Lake County Chamber of Commerce; chairman of the Illinois Press Association Advertising & Marketing Board and president of the Ravinia Woods homeowners' association, Gurnee's largest.
