Why no patrols at Schaumburg crosswalk?

On Friday, June 3, after volunteering at Field Day at Hale School I was walking home using the path at the back of Hale School at dismissal time.

I was surprised to find no student patrols at the crosswalk at Country Club and Colby Lanes. Since my own children attended Hale when it first opened, I worked there in the office for 22 years and I still have grandchildren attending Hale I really was astounded to find out this has been going on this year.

Never until now since the school opened has that crossing not been patrolled. Even with patrols there have been times when the police were asked to come to ensure the safety of the children and ticket people not obeying the rules of safety for the students.

Now with no patrols the kids are just wandering out in the street. Does someone have to be injured to get patrols back at the crosswalk?

If the case is that the patrols weren’t doing the job properly then why wasn’t the person who gets paid a stipend to oversee the patrols going down there to correct the issue? Are they earning that stipend or just looking at it as an easy way to get some extra money? How has this been allowed to happen?
