Schaumburg Twp. seeks collector

With former Schaumburg Township collector Jeff Mytych having been appointed this week to succeed the late Richard Taccini as a township trustee, Supervisor Mary Wroblewski is now seeking resumes from those interested in filling his former post.

The unpaid collector position carries no official duties, but is often used as an educational opportunity and training ground for those interested in future public service, Wroblewski said.

Resumes will be accepted through June 10 in the supervisor’s office at Schaumburg Township Hall, 1 Illinois Blvd. in Hoffman Estates. Applicants must be residents of Schaumburg Township and registered Republicans, as Mytych is.

Taccini, 70, died April 3 after suffering a cardiac arrest nine days earlier.
