Lake County softball rap

Cara Nance put an exclamation point on her four-year varsity softball career for Wauconda, going 3-for-3 with 2 doubles and a triple on “Senior Day” Friday.

More importantly for Nance, she helped her team beat Deerfield 6-2.

Wauconda also got 2-for-3 efforts from sophomore Emily Holub, senior Kasey Kruckenberg and sophomore Alex Kinnamon.

Senior Brittany Ehmann earned the win.

Lake Zurich 6, Lincoln-Way Central 4: Tab Bohac doubled twice, and the Bears followed up their win in the North Suburban Conference championship game with another win.

Lake Zurich (19-7) also got 2 hits apiece from Alli McGinnis, Kelly Neises, Carlee Parsons and Christina Sandstedt. Besides Bohac, Mallory Parsons and McGinnis doubled for the Bears.

Carmel 9, Nazareth 3: Sally Snarski homered, singled and knocked in 5 runs for the host Corsairs in their East Suburban Catholic Conference game.

Kelley Dodge was 3-for-4 and scored twice for Carmel (12-19-1). Winning pitcher Nicole Bitter allowed 2 earned runs and struck out eight.

Buffalo Grove 5, Libertyville 3: Danielle Kaczmar went 3-for-4 and Maggie Meyer was 2-for-3 for the Wildcats.

Huntley 5, Grayslake Central 0: Rams pitcher Tayler Janda was charged with only 1 earned run.
