Elgin’s Perryman fans 17

Elgin junior Hannah Perryman picked a good day to go over the 500 strikeout mark for her career.

Perryman struck out a career-high 17 and fired a 1-hitter as the Maroons downed Geneva 3-1 in an Upstate Eight Conference River Division game.

Perryman (10-4) now has 510 strikeouts in her Elgin High career.

“Congrats to Hannah,” said Elgin coach Chad Dahlman. “That’s the best game I’ve seen her pitch in two years. She got ahead in the count and then attacked the strike zone.”
