Quinn should stop corporate blackmail
First Caterpillar threatens to leave our state and Gov. Quinn was right there with cash to make them stay. Then Motorola gets $100 million to stay in the state. Now Sears wants to leave. But wait, the governor will again give them hundreds of millions of dollars to stay.
Gov. Quinn always says, “The kids first.” But the state owes District 300 almost $20 million. Where is that money, governor?
District 300 needs the taxes from the Sears property much more than Sears, the fourth largest retailer in the nation. Come on, governor, stop saying you support the schools and pay District 300 the money it needs to educate our kids and stop the corporate blackmail in our state.
