Police watching Rt. 59 Monday

On Monday, May 9, Illinois State Police and numerous local agencies will conduct a directed traffic safety initiative along the Route 59 corridor from Will County to Lake County. The initiative, intended to create public awareness and reduce crashes and fatalities, will concentrate on speed and occupant restraint violations. Police departments expected to participate include those from Naperville, Shorewood, Joliet, Plainfield, Aurora, Warrenville, West Chicago, Bartlett, Streamwood, Hoffman Estates, Will County, DuPage County, Lake County and Illinois State Police District 2 and District 5.
