Prospect turns back Hersey

Prospect protected its Mid-Suburban East lead in girls water polo with an 8-6 victory over host Hersey at Olympic Pool in Arlington Heights on Thursday.

Senior Meg Dix led all scorers with 4 goals, and Lisa Mazur scored 3 for Prospect (9-0, 7-0 MSL East).

Christine Rovani had 3 goals for Hersey (13-10, 4-3).

Fremd 12, Hoffman Estates 2: Samantha Matuszewski, Emily Orlowski, Sam Del Prado and Emma Nielsen each scored twice as the visiting Vikings maintained control of the Mid-Suburban West by topping the Hawks (6-11, 1-6).

Schaumburg 10, Barrington 2: Kristy Bessler scored 6 goals and Sammy Schuckles had 2 to help host Schaumburg (9-6, 4-3) pick up an MSL West win at home.

Rolling Meadows 11, Elk Grove 10 (OT): Emily LeBuhn scored 6 goals and Jessica Dykstra had 2 as the visiting Mustangs (3-8, 2-5) outlasted Elk Grove in overtime. Jordan Crocker had 3 goals to lead the Grenadiers (1-11, 0-7).
