West Chicago 4, St. Edward 3: The Green Wave (1-3) put together a rally in the top of the sixth inning to tie the game at 3-3 but fell just short of a victory as they were defeated in the bottom of the seventh. Ryan Nudd recorded the Wave’s only extra base hit with a double. Luke Duffy (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound throwing 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 9.

Larkin 4, Belvidere North 3: The Royals (1-1) picked up their first victory of the season as Cody Wahl’s single in the bottom of the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner. Victor Saldona (2-for-4, RBI), Austin Royse (2-for-4, 2B, run), Niko Morado (2-for-3, RBI), and Trevor Whitehead (2-for-3, BB) all recorded 2 hits on the day to lead the Royals offensively. Royse (1-0) pitched the final inning to earn the victory while Kyle Newquist threw 5 innings, allowed 5 hits and 2 walks and struck out 5.

Streamwood 11, Ridgewood 0 (6 innings): The Sabres (2-0) couldn’t find the scoreboard in the first 2 innings but soon turned up the intensity as they put up 4 runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to cruise to an easy victory over Ridgewood. Bobby Post (3-for-3, 3 runs) and Zach Bucher (2-for-2, 3 RBI, 3B) led the Sabres with a perfect performances from the plate. Alex Morrow, Richie Gorski, and Nate Pearson each recorded 2 hits and an RBI. Dalton Lundeen earned the victory on the mound as he gave up no-hits and struck out 8 before giving way to Domnick Tatone in the fifth inning.

South Elgin 3, Elk Grove 1: The Storm (1-0) started their season off right as they defeated Elk Grove on the road in this nonconference matchup. Robbie Green went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and 3 stolen bases while John Menken recorded an RBI double. Nate Garris added a sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to add and insurance run for the Storm. Marty Knuth (1-0) earned the victory as he pitched 5 innings of 3 hit ball while striking out 3 and surrendering just 1 walk. Andrew Perry came on in the sixth to pitch 2 scoreless innings as he earned the save.

Judson University 22, Roosevelt University 1 (5 innings): The Eagles (17-4, 3-0) scored in every inning as they pounded out 22 runs to earn their 13th consecutive victory. Matt McHenry (HR, 3 RBI) and Joe Young (5 RBI) each recorded 3 hits a piece for the Eagles while Nate Rohl hit his 7th round tripper of the year. Ben Vincent also recorded 3 RBI. Joe Huenecke (2-0) threw five innings while striking out 5.
