Miller, Scipione, Wroblewski, Bosshart for Schaumburg library board

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Four candidates are seeking election to three board seats for the Schaumburg Township Public Library. Incumbent Nicholas Scipione has served well since being appointed in 2009 and will continue to do so if elected in April. Incumbent Debby Miller shares Scipione’s ideas and goals for the library. They agree the library should focus on teen services, fiscal responsibility and the library cafe. Newcomer Julie Wroblewski Bosshart would echoes many of the same solid solutions and ideas as the incumbents, and she also agrees with them that charging reciprocal card holders is a bad idea. Challenger Richard Hetzer offers interesting ideas for library revenue sources, and his business smarts are impressive, but many of his ideas could be a turnoff to library patrons and neighboring libraries. We endorse Miller, Scipione and Wroblewski Bosshart.
