Schaumburg camps keep kids busy over spring break
The Schaumburg Park District will offer a variety of spring break camps for youth during the week of March 21.
Spring Break Camp: Campers ages 6-12 will enjoy a week of games, field trips and crafts. Must bring a sack lunch each day. Camp is held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., March 21-25, at Meineke Recreation Center, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Register for one day or the whole week for a discounted price. Camp cost per day is $35; $53 nonresidents. Camp cost for the week is $135; $155 nonresidents.Spring Valley Spring Break Camp: Spend some time at Spring Valley, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road. Campers ages 8 to 12 will spend one day at the log cabin cooking over an open fire. Other days will be spent exploring trails and looking for signs of animals. Campers make crafts, play games and learn about animals. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring a sack lunch. Camp is 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., March 21-25. Camp cost for the week is $135; $155 for nonresidents.Gymnastics Spring Break Camp: Children will have three days of age-appropriate group activity. Tumbling, bars, beam, vault, pommel horse and pit will be included. Children may be divided according to age, skill and/or gender. Camps meet March 21-24 at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road.Spring Break Dodgeball Camp: Campers ages 7 to 13 will learn the basic skills of throwing, dodging, catching, teamwork and strategy. Don#146;t miss this opportunity to prepare for the NADA Spring Break Tournament set for March 26. Camp meets 10 a.m.-noon, March 21-25 at the Sport Center. 1141 W. Irving Park Road.
