Trinity Lutheran celebrates Lutheran Schools Week

Trinity Lutheran School in Lombard celebrated Lutheran Schools Week March 6-13 with many special activities and events.

The week kicked off with Hat Day. Students in all grades displayed their knowledge at the Science Fair.

The third- through eighth-graders volunteered their time at "Feed My Starving Children." Trinity students, parents, and volunteers packed 11,448 instant complete meals, which will feed 32 children for a year in the poorest parts of our world.

A Christian organization, FMSC was founded in 1987 to feed children starving in body and spirit. Each vegetarian meal costs $0.24 and provides a complete, nutritious meal for 6 people when reconstituted with boiling water.

This worthy organization has been the recipient of students' chapel offerings for the months of March and April.

As Lutheran Schools Week continued, students cheered a yearly tradition -- an all-school breakfast served by the teachers.

The week concluded with an all-school trip to Brookfield Zoo on Friday.

Located at 1165 S. Meyers Road in Lombard, Trinity serves children ages 3 through eighth grade in a faith-based environment. To find out more about our school contact the office at (630) 629-8765.
