Revoke licenses of bad docs

I want to commend State Representative Jack Franks for introducing legislation to protect your constituents and all Illinoisans. Rep. Franks recently filed legislation that will help protect all medical patients from irresponsible and predatory physicians.

I was shocked to learn that Illinois has allowed a legal loophole to remain open for years that leaves patients susceptible to abuse. Illinois allows physicians who are convicted of sex crimes and other unprofessional, illegal and immoral behaviors, to continue practicing medicine, as well as keeps those records confidential. Rep. Franks is working to right this wrong with a bill that mandates the revocation of a physicians’ license if convicted of a sex offense, public aid offense or substance abuse.
